Evidence Me
We use this for photos and observations of all the wonderful things your children do! Parents can download the app and we will provide a secure log in, so you can see them at any time! We encourage parents to add their own too.
Microsoft teams
Should we ever need to return to remote learning, we will use teams. Each child will be provided with a secure email address and password. This can be access via the internet.
Primary School Admission
Nottingham Nursery admits children 0-4 years old. To start reception or Foundation Two as it might be called, you have to apply for a school place. If you wish your child to attend Mellers Primary, it is the same process via Nottingham City Council. The deadline for admissions is January 15th 2023 and you should have a place confirmed April 17th 2023. The icon opposite will take you to the council information page.
Literacy Trust
The National Literacy Trust’s website has a number of useful downloadable resources. These support the development of early language and communication skills as the vital first step to literacy. There are tips for talking to your baby and young child, and also bilingual tips. To access these resources you need to set up an account.
Words for Life
Words for Life is a website specifically designed for parents. It provides information on expected milestones, tips and fun activities to do with your child to support their speech, language and communication. You can also find words and videos for many nursery rhymes and songs.
Tiny Happy People
BBC Tiny Happy people provides tips and information about how you can develop your baby’s language and communication skills, so they get the best start in life. The ideas and activities are easy to build into your daily routine. The website shows why and how you can bond with your child, before they’re born and throughout the first 18 months of life – it’s never too early to start.
Speech and Language UK
The Speech and Language website, formerly ICAN, offers free information and advice on speech, language and communication development, as well as the opportunity to book a free call from a speech and language therapist to discuss any concerns. There are also books and DVDs on communication development available for parents to buy.
Lullaby Trust
The Lullaby Trust offers safer sleep advice and can give you peace of mind. Their advice is based on scientific advice evidence and should be followed for all sleep periods, not just at night. You can also call their information line on 0808 8026869 (lines open Monday – Friday 10am -5pm).
Start4life weaning
It can be confusing knowing when and how to start introducing solid foods. This site will guide you through the weaning journey and explain what it all means. It has expert NHS advice, helpful videos, tips from other parents, and lots of simple, healthy weaning recipe and meal ideas.

There are little things we can all do to help look after our mental health. Having good mental health helps us relax more, achieve more and enjoy our lives more. This site has advice and practical tips to help you look after your mental health and wellbeing, so discover what works for you.
Place2Be
Place2Be is a children’s mental health charity with over 25 years’ experience working with pupils, families and staff in UK schools. Their section “Parenting Smart” has great advice for parents about how to talk to your children about a whole range of parenting issues
